Distant Light
Every surface begins with a single point of brightness: a polish struck into patinated bronze, brass, and copper the way starlight strikes a lens after traveling further than the eye can measure. That light is real. What it reveals depends on where you stand.
The shadow it drops is not an accident of lighting. It is an imprint, the same way a fingerprint is an imprint, a mark left by contact, unrepeatable, legible only up close. The map does not exist on its own. It waits for light to press it into visibility, the way skin waits for pressure to reveal what was already there.
Pressed into the bronze tag on each work is my actual thumbprint, beside the name, the year, and the mark 1 of 1. It is not a signature of ego. It follows the same lines as the work itself: both are imprints, one from a fingertip, one from a light too far to touch, each unrepeatable, each legible only if you stay long enough to look.
Every piece is hand-fabricated from patinated copper, brass, bronze, and stainless steel. Every ring, every suspended element, every surface is formed by hand. Nothing is cast from a mould. Nothing is bought ready-made. Nothing is repeated.
Suspended from a single point and held away from the wall, the work moves with the air. The patinas, blue, green, copper, shift with each angle of light, so the piece keeps changing as you look.
