City in Colour

A city is built brick by brick, piece by piece, rising to the sky. These panels are made the same way.

Each one is assembled from parts I craft, smith, and patinate one at a time, then bring together until a city rises in the surface.

The metal holds memory. So do buildings, so do people. Every mark, every weld, every layer of patina is a thing that happened and stayed.

I guide the materials with heat and acid, but the surface keeps its own record. Morning comes up cool and slow. Evening burns and lets go.

What rose to the surface was not planned. It is found, the way a city shows you a colour you have passed a hundred times and never seen.

This is an archive. A place where the metal remembers.

This series is held in a private collection.
