Four Points, 2007. Patinated bronze, brass, copper, and stainless steel. 20 × 39 inches. Hand-fabricated, 1 of 1. Available. Price on inquiry.
The cast shadow: a light drawing, made of everything the light did not touch.
Openwork lace built by hand. Nothing cast from a mould, nothing repeated.
The centre is drawn, not modelled. Bronze melted under the flame and lay down in a line, the way ink is laid on paper.
Amber above a panel of patinated copper and bronze, the metal floated and let to run before it cooled.
Copper, bronze, along and satinless steel, melted under the flame until the patina moved like water, then stopped.
Brass rods cross the panel the way threads cross a loom, holding the field in tension.
Details of ornamental threads
The artist's thumbprint pressed into bronze, beside the name, the year, and the mark 1 of 1.
