The cast shadow: a light drawing, made of everything the light did not touch.
Bronze melted under the torch and drawn while it ran, laid down as ornamental embroidery around a single amber stone.
Verdigris and ferric patinas carry the blue and the burnt red.
Polished highlights struck into the surface where the light first catches.
The outer edge is worked as lace: open, knotted, and built in air rather than laid on a ground. Bronze meeting bronze the way thread meets thread, by hand and flame. Nothing cast from a mould, nothing repeated.
The crown above the ring, worked as ornamental lace in bronze, is the first thing the light meets and the first line the shadow draws.
Stainless steel worked into five feathered drops. The colour comes from the flame, not from patina, and the highlights are polished in after, each hung free to turn with the air.
