A disc of smithed brass, raised by hand, then ornamented. The field is woven, not drawn: verdigris patina is layered and applied to the metal in stages, the way lines of wool are laid into the loom to build a tapestry palette of colours.
Some see a face in it. The metal was melted under the torch and drawn while molten, then frozen into the design as it cooled.
Where the tapestry ends the edge opens into lace, knotted and worked with nothing solid behind it. Built by hand and flame.

Brass rods cross the panel the way threads cross a loom, holding the field in tension.
The panel chiselled and textured in copper and brass, the grain running like woven cloth, then crossed and pinned where the threads would meet.
